Yanping Zhang, PhD, has been involved in computer networks and computer security for over ten years. She got her PhD from the University of Alabama as the recipient of "The Outstanding Dissertation Award". Her research interests include Medium Access Control (MAC) layer optimization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), intrusion detection in WSNs, wireless network security, protection from cybercrime,  bio-computing, and telemedicine.
